Snack Time...Turkey Style

UNO had a Thanksgiving Feast today at pre-school.
He was supposed to take his favorite food.
PIZZA!!!
(like father, like son!)

So of course no ordinary round pizza would do...

I found an empty box and began to make my Turkey head.

 After several tries...
This is what I came up with.
I 'iced' him with Chocolate icing.
Added Candy Mold melts for eyes. (colored pupils with a sharpie)
Twizzlers for the Wattle and a Bow Tie!
And a Dried Apricot for the beak.

It actually turned out better than I imagined!

I cooked 2 pizzas and cut them into kid-size slices
to make the "Turkey Feathers"!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
PIZZA! PIZZA!
GOBBLE! GOBBLE!

Eating "E"

UNO's letter of the week at school was "E".
I like to introduce the letter of the week at home first.
(his teacher gives us a lesson plan at the beginning of the month!)
...and of course it was in the kitchen!

Breakfast:
EGG Casserole and an "E" shaped apple

Now coming up with another 'E' food kinda threw me off...
and then an 'a-ha' moment erupted!
(Oprah would be so proud!)
I cut hot dogs length wise with my Pampered Chef Crinkle Cutter.
and placed them into water to cook...
 Viola!
Earth Worms for Lunch!

Busy TRES

TRES has been pretty busy this past week.
Dollar Tree Straws in an ice tray.
 Almost done!
Clothes Pins in a Shaker cup
 Shake! Shake! Shake!
(her favorite part!)
Putting candles on the Birthday Cake
Here she is blowing out the candles!

Paper Bag Turkey

When I saw this idea at Tip Junkie, I was
obsessing... psychotic.. stayed awake all night thinking about it...
inspired to make it!

UNO was scheduled to take snack to pre-school today, GOLDFISH crackers!

Instead of throwing a couple of bags at the teacher and running
I thought it would be cute to add to the snack time fun!

Get the step by step instructions with photos here!

Here are pictures and the variations I used to create my feast!

 2 large paper bags
Turn one inside out.
Since I didn't have the small lunch bags...I made my own!
Turn them inside out and tape them.
 Future drumsticks
Viola! One turkey ready for stuffing!
I forgot to take pictures of the frills in the making!
 I used bag goldfish.
I also pinched the middle and pulled out to make it "fluffy"
 Stuff the "bird"!
Tuck under and tape closed.
Tape drumsticks.
 Our turkey!

I hope his class enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it for them!

November Sensory Box

So now I am in TOTAL LOVE with Sensory boxes!
I got the idea for them at Counting Coconuts
...by the way her blog is AWESOME!!

Vermicelli! I used 4 bags I already had on hand.
Looks like hay to me =)
I also added Cinnamon sticks and Whole cloves

DOS attempted to take out the cloves with a clothes pin.
She already took out the Cinnamon Sticks.

Our Thanksgiving Sensory Box ended up being
Sunflowers, Pumpkins, a Green Bowl and a Wooden Spoon.

I would like add more fall items...pine cones and acorns, but I haven't made it to the forest!

Where's DOS?
"Mommy, it's too dirty?"

TRES helping scoop out pumpkin guts

 Cookie Man (isn't he handsome!)

Our Pumpkins!

Ready to Trick or Treat!

The loot!
(Lucky for us... the Sugar Witch came by the next day and took it!)

A Halloween Swap
We recently participated in A Halloween Swap hosted by Mind Games. This was our second swap.
You can read about our first swap here.

We were paired up with Duck, Duck, Cow!

The package arrived and was so awesome!
Jessica neatly wrapped each gift which made it even more exciting!!

UNO was excited about the spiders!
Emptying the box!
 DOS loved the feather boa!
 TRES quickly too these to...
Cookie Man! He was excited too!

I must say the best part of the swap was the introduction of "The Sugar Witch"!!
We always just gave the kids candy away and they were none the wiser.

Jessica and her family have a bag that they put their candy in and
put out for the Sugar Witch to come and get!
In return, she left a small gift for the kids.

This year our Sugar Witch left a note, a coupon and money!!
The note read, "Toy Story 3"!
Awesome!

We are glad to add this tradition to our Halloween Routine as well as
"Spookley, the Square Pumpkin" DVD!

We are also grateful for new blog friends!!
