Muffin Tin Monday- UP

Muffin Tin Mom

Today our theme is from the movie UP!
A Protein bar cut  like a house with sour lemon heads for balloons-
Russell's Explorer book, (a fig bar)-
a piece of chocolate for Kevin
a gummy heart for Ellie -
angel food cake "clouds"-
a banana with strawberries for Mr. Fredericksen's compass

It was an easy snack tin and UNO and DOS ate it while watching the movie!
Enjoy with your eyes!

On another note...I am so excited to participate in MY first ever Muffin Tin Monday Swap!
I am paired up with Sarah in Arizona!

Kids in The Kitchen...LOTS OF THEM!

Today I hosted a Kids in the Kitchen Cooking Camp. I recently attended a friend's Pampered Chef party and told her I would have a show.

Well with three kids, ages 3 & 1/2 and under, I knew I had to get creative on this one! I called and told Crystal, the "Pampered Chef Lady", I needed to schedule it during the day and hopefully make it a playgroup and then I threw her the idea and she loved it.

The menu was simple and Crazy Caterpillars and Double Decker Quesadillas...and for dessert-
A Chocolate Smores' Cake that was pretty much
one of my psychotic stay up until the wee hours of the morning ideas that I cannot get out of my head
delicious!!

The kids had fun...

and so did the moms!

Family Photo Collage

For Father's day, I made Cookie Man a Photo Collage of him and the kids!  I actually ran out of pictures and that was a good thing because Cookie Man said he wanted me in the collage too!

(I'm thinking silently to myself...well DUH...you wouldn't be a daddy without moi!! Ha-ha!)

I used one of the John Ritter poster/foam boards that I got from my Brother-in-law for FREE.

 YEE-HAW!
Mod-Podge and me are now the bestest of friends!!
  MUAH!

As you can see, I am having fun with these.
Cookie Man and his crumbs!
Funny-huh? I just made that up!

 Happy Father's Day Cookie Man!
I love you!

My favorite 4 letter word...

F~R~E~E!!!

I managed to score these freebies at my Brother-in-laws house!!!

I instantly blacked out and almost hyperventilated!

OK, OK... an exaggeration but the gears were spinning in my head so fast I was afraid I would get whip lashed!

I had been looking for something to be the focal point once you walked into the house.  Once in the front door, it is an instant tunnel view that leads you straight past the den, dining room and into the kitchen.

YES...I'd like to think that it is the wonderful aroma of my cookin' that get people scootin' that way but no it is kinda like the  moving walkway  you see at airports...
anyway...

Goodbye, once again John Ritter!

One can of chalkboard paint and ...VIOLA! Instant gratification! and it took longer to dry than it did to make...about 15 minutes!!

Our first message is for Cookie Man...
I still have to hang coat hooks and set it up but it looks good so far!

Watering the Spirit...

I can't believe the transformation of the back yard.

sharp, brittle...unwelcoming.

Enter grass.

Calming.
Cool.

Inviting.

A brand new life that needs nurturing...
water to thrive...

tiny feet to run through...

And prayer...

I see new life in my children, my husband, my marriage, my parenting...and myself.

...my prayers have been answered.

Feast of the Sacred Heart Jesus

Today we are celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Lacy at Catholic Icing has inspired me to make my version of Sacred Heart Cookies!

I had been obsessing thinking about what I could do that would be easy to do with 3 little ones attached to my legs and this turned out to be super fast and easy!!

Here is what I used:
Palmiers
Wilton Icing Red and Yellow
Orange Sprinkles
Chocolate Sprinkles
(Wilton just made my life easier!!)

First I melted the red icing in the microwave...about 20 seconds.

I poured it and spread it on the Palmiers.

After it dried, I added the Yellow icing on top and Orange Sprinkles.

I then added a line of red icing so the Chocolate Sprinkles would stick.

Here is the finished product!

Cookie Man gave me a hard time because I told the kids they could have one tomorrow...so I gave in and I think UNO and DOS approve! (I made these last night.)

Here is a prayer of Offering to the Sacred Heart that we prayed while we were growing up...sadly, I didn't remember the prayer and had to look it up.
My God, I offer You all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for the intentions for which He pleads and offers Himself in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in thanksgiving for Your favors, in reparation for my sins, and in humble supplication for my temporal and eternal welfare, for the needs of our holy Mother the Church, for the conversion of sinners, and for the relief of the poor souls in purgatory.
Thank you Lacy for helping me add Icing to my "Catholic Cake"!
