February Play Dough and Sensory Tub

When I saw these sensory tubs at 1+1+1=1 and Counting Coconuts
I knew Red was definitely going to be the theme for our Sensory tub!
I couldn't believe how many little red things I had!
(I still would like to add small filler/ pony beads.)

This has definitely been a winner in our house!

I also loved the idea, again from Counting Coconuts,
for Chocolate Scented Play Dough!
Yes!! It does smell yummy!

CHOCOLATE SCENTED PLAY DOUGH
Flour
Cocoa powder
Salt
Cream of tartar
Cooking oil
Boiling water
Mix 1 1/4 cups of flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup salt, 1/2
Tablespoon cream of tartar. Add 1 1/2 Tablespoons cooking oil, 1 cup
boiling water.
Stir quickly, mix well. Cook over low heat until dough forms a ball.
When cool, mix with your hands. Store in airtight container.

Recipe from here.

December Sensory Tub

I L.O.V.E. Christmas time!
I was so excited to introduce December's Sensory tub!
I thought it would be great way to REALLY keep CHRIST in Christmas!

I am using the vermicelli from the November Sensory box.

I added Little People Nativity figurines!
(Bought this on sale at Target! Thanks Lacy!)

I plan on using it with this book.

UNO was so excited he couldn't keep his hand off it!

Best of all, it almost all fits in our Sensory Box!

November Sensory Box

So now I am in TOTAL LOVE with Sensory boxes!
I got the idea for them at Counting Coconuts
...by the way her blog is AWESOME!!

Vermicelli! I used 4 bags I already had on hand.
Looks like hay to me =)
I also added Cinnamon sticks and Whole cloves

DOS attempted to take out the cloves with a clothes pin.
She already took out the Cinnamon Sticks.

Our Thanksgiving Sensory Box ended up being
Sunflowers, Pumpkins, a Green Bowl and a Wooden Spoon.

I would like add more fall items...pine cones and acorns, but I haven't made it to the forest!

October Fun!

Wow! I just can't wait for the Colors of Fall to come upon us!
I guess it's more of the cold weather that I'm wanting!

When I came across this sensory tub for Fall, I knew it needed to be the first thing I did for the kids!
I simply added dried red lentils, dried black beans, a pumpkin scrapper and
some spiders from the Dollar Tree!
Viola! Instant Fun!
DOS played with this for HOURS!!
