Peppermint Sticks!!

Vallimasoos: "Honey will you get those for me?"
Cookie Man: "what for?" (said in a very sarcastic tone)
Vallimasoos: "Peppermint Sticks!"
Cookie Man: "oh!" (gears rolling in his head as he puts 2 and 2 together)

You know a man TRULY loves you when you ask him to go dumpster diving AND he does!
And so I love him even more than yesterday!

OK-OK he really didn't jump into a dumpster...
Cookie Man was tall enough to reach in and grab them while standing from his truck!
Gotta love that man!!
Enough with all the gooey, kissy stuff!

You know what these are???
...Me either BUT they came from a parking lot re-do!
These were waiting to be rescued
by a strong, super sexy man
in YES...the dumpster!
I bought some painters tape and White Krylon Spray Paint for plastics.

I gave them Peppermint stripes!
  and sprayed them up good!!
We placed them on each side of the garage.
Being that we love to decorate the outside of our house for Christmas...
I knew they would be an awesome and FREE addition!!
Best of all...I have 3 more to make!!
I think eventually I'd like to see if I can add a 'hook' on the end to made a Candy Cane!

Rain Gutter Book Shelves

We decided to put the kids in one room. Cookie Man's Idea...and it was a good one!  I wondered how I could separate the "boy side" from the "girl side"...Cookie Man's only request!

Since UNO and DOS share a trundle...hers tucked away under his...I needed to make sure NOT to obstruct the floor at all!

I had seen the Rain Gutter Idea at Raising Olives and it also included a tutorial.  You MUST check out her post and see the pictures of her book shelves!

I went to Home Depot and bought 40 feet of Rain Gutters...a bit too ambitious, Don't cha think?  The rain gutter is sold in 10' lengths a bit under $5/each. The end caps were $ 5.50/pair and the brackets were $ 1.90/each.

I cut mine into 5' lengths and they extend over both beds about 2" (I couldn't stand the thought of throwing away the scraps! ...although I did find an awesome idea to use them for but too late for now!)

They were super easy to put up!
UNO sang the Bob the Builder song
UNO and DOS putting books on the shelf!

I put their favorite books within arms reach and will rotate them as needed.  The special books are placed on the higher shelf for mommy and daddy to reading time!

I am going to put one more below the last shelf so TRES can have her books within reach!

I do need to decorate the walls more...*sigh*...we are renting so painting is not an option!  But I'm on the look out for something easy! Any ideas???

I will update later once the lower shelf is in place!

Family Photo Collage

For Father's day, I made Cookie Man a Photo Collage of him and the kids!  I actually ran out of pictures and that was a good thing because Cookie Man said he wanted me in the collage too!

(I'm thinking silently to myself...well DUH...you wouldn't be a daddy without moi!! Ha-ha!)

I used one of the John Ritter poster/foam boards that I got from my Brother-in-law for FREE.

 YEE-HAW!
Mod-Podge and me are now the bestest of friends!!
  MUAH!

As you can see, I am having fun with these.
Cookie Man and his crumbs!
Funny-huh? I just made that up!

 Happy Father's Day Cookie Man!
I love you!

My favorite 4 letter word...

F~R~E~E!!!

I managed to score these freebies at my Brother-in-laws house!!!

I instantly blacked out and almost hyperventilated!

OK, OK... an exaggeration but the gears were spinning in my head so fast I was afraid I would get whip lashed!

I had been looking for something to be the focal point once you walked into the house.  Once in the front door, it is an instant tunnel view that leads you straight past the den, dining room and into the kitchen.

YES...I'd like to think that it is the wonderful aroma of my cookin' that get people scootin' that way but no it is kinda like the  moving walkway  you see at airports...
anyway...

Goodbye, once again John Ritter!

One can of chalkboard paint and ...VIOLA! Instant gratification! and it took longer to dry than it did to make...about 15 minutes!!

Our first message is for Cookie Man...
I still have to hang coat hooks and set it up but it looks good so far!

Watering the Spirit...

I can't believe the transformation of the back yard.

sharp, brittle...unwelcoming.

Enter grass.

Calming.
Cool.

Inviting.

A brand new life that needs nurturing...
water to thrive...

tiny feet to run through...

And prayer...

I see new life in my children, my husband, my marriage, my parenting...and myself.

...my prayers have been answered.
